It is hard to believe we are in the last few days of the year! I want to wish you and your family a blessed holiday season!! Words cannot express how much I have appreciated your support!!! I am going to attempt to post the newsletter, so wish me luck!

Well, I have more to learn as my upload was not accepted :( I will do some more research and see if I figure it out. Technology is great when it works!

All for now!
More photos of our field trip :) Thank you to all the chaperones who helped make it a success. Thank you to the generous families who have donated candy and soda for the "Harvest Fest" this Friday from 6-9 PM. The room that gets the most candy by weight wins a pizza party!!
Speaking of pictures, retakes are tomorrow. Students not needing to have their picture taken may wear PJ's or a sport jersey in celebration of "Red Ribbon Week."
More,more,more pictures!

Field Trip Chaperones
October 20, 2009
My Dear Families. I wanted to send home an explanation of the chaperon, finger print card issue. First, let me apologize for things not being clearer and for any heartache it may have caused you.. The state has mandated that any chaperon that is alone with any student other than their own hold a finger print clearance card. The Apple Annie's field trip will require students to be alone with their chaperon at sometime during the event. You may attend the field trip with your child after having your finger prints run at the office. You may not be assigned a group to chaperon, but you may be part of a group that has an assigned chaperon. Finger print cards are good for years and though they are expensive to get, they will allow you to chaperon any filed trip your child's class goes on. The finger prints run in the front office allow you to be on campus, in the classroom, and go with your child on field trips. Again, please forgive me for the confusion. I am looking forward to seeing many of you on Friday for the field trip!

Aloha Friday!! I am so excited for this evenings performance. Just a reminder to have your child in the gym by 6:45 PM, dressed in jeans and a La Paloma shirt. We have been practicing very hard and are ready share the ACT statement with you! THANK YOU TO MRS. SCHWEIGER FOR CREATING OUR ACT STATEMENT POSTER!!!!!
A quick reminder regarding sweatshirts, jackets and sweaters. They must be LPA colors without any writing or logos visible. Also, toys are not allowed at school. If your child brings a toy, it will be taken from them and you will need to be the one to pick it up from the classroom.
I am going to try and attach the newsletter for Monday to the next blog entry. I am not very computer savvy, but I am willing to try :)
A huge thank you to the Von Cannon family and the Torres family for their donation of white boards to the classroom!!! We only need 2 more for everyone to have one.
Have a fabulous weekend and thank you for supporting me and LPA in all we do.

First Week
Wow! What a fabulous first week!!! There are a few things that I was not able to fit into my newsletter for Monday and thought I would include them here.
Spelling: Any backward letters will be counted wrong. Uppercase letters will be allowed up until the end of the second quarter, and then the word will be counted wrong.
Missing assignments: I will send a post it note with any assignments your child missed turning in for the week.
Parent Volunteers: I would really appreciate any time you might have to help in the classroom. I need someone to run the book orders and file.
Field Trip: September 30th to Miller-Golflinks library.
